ABMHF are seeking new Trustees<\/h4>UPDATE – AGM 2026 – 

The Argyll & Bute Museums & Heritage Forum (ABMHF) is in urgent need of more Trustees.<\/strong><\/h4>

\n\n

We come to you with a plea for help. <\/p>\n

Are you passionate about the heritage of Argyll and Bute? 
Could you spare a few hours a month actively volunteering to help the Forum to survive. .. and, in the future, to build the capacity and activities of your Forum?<\/p>\n\nThe\n Forum is a Scottish charity (SCIO-SC050209) dedicated to supporting \npeople, places, and organisations involved in heritage across the Argyll\n and Bute area. We have over 135 individuals and \norganisations. There are still many more potential members across the \narea who have not yet joined. \n

We are seeking new volunteer directors <\/strong>to\n help us keep the Forum going – in the future to shape the future of the Forum and improve our on going activities. Your skills, experience and \nenthusiasm would be invaluable as we continue to support and promote the\n rich heritage of Argyll & Bute and take advantage of funding on offer. <\/p>\n

We\n need responsible people with some experience and interest in any part \nof Argyll and Bute museums and heritage who can volunteer time each month for hands on direct management of our activities.
Meetings are online – current trustees are on islands and lead busy working lives. You can live anywhere. <\/p>\n

We welcome offers from the professional or voluntary \nsector, all your current Trustees hold volunteer positions in their heritage interest, and do all the work, there is no other person or team doing things for us.
<\/p>

Experience of charity governance would be useful  but is not essential.

We are particularly keen to appoint people involved in the museums and heritage sector from remote and rural areas – people with some knowledge and experience in Government and Public Affairs, and Climate Action. Although this is useful it is not essential.

Applications from people from all socio-economic backgrounds, from disabled people and those with long-term health conditions, and those under the age of 30 are particularly encouraged. <\/span><\/p>

Membership of ABMHF is open to all individuals and organisations interested in heritage and museums in the county. <\/strong>The\n Forum started out to help small, independent museums achieve \naccreditation, but over time, our focus has expanded to support the \nentire heritage sector. This includes volunteers, community groups, \nbusinesses, and everyone interested in our region\u2019s history. From \nancient times to the present day, we are here to celebrate the people, \nplaces, islands, and everything that makes our heritage unique.<\/p>\n\n

We are currently seeking:<\/strong><\/p>\nVolunteer Directors <\/strong>to help us manage the every day activities of the Forum\u2019s  (Strategic direction will come when we have enough people, and capacity to think beyond surviving)

Access funding and manage projects.\u00a0
Create\u00a0the capacity to run events and activities.\u00a0
Develop our website content\u00a0
Host a hybrid conference.\u00a0
Host
monthly online networking events\u00a0for members to come together
informally, and learn together; to support each other,\u00a0build our
knowledge of our sector and increase our membership.\u00a0\u00a0

more training events as we have in the past – what sort of training
