You are invited to our monthly online networking Heritage Cafes offering a space for volunteers, professionals, businesses, and members of our community to come together, share their news, tell us of events, ask for help and listen to each other. Thanks to Museums Galleries Scotland we have secured funding for our Cafe Coordinator, the wonderful storyteller Gauri Raje, who will be bringing us interesting people each month as well.Our guest for the June cafe is Alison Diamond.In 2016, Alison was appointed archivist for Argyll Estates Archives at Inveraray Castle, the family and estate archive of the Dukes of Argyll since 2016. She preserves and manages the collection, promotes public access and supports estate business. She has developed Friends of Argyll Estates Archives (SCIO) and encourages in-person and remote volunteers.Before this, Alison was a Curatorial Officer at National Records of Scotland, enjoying various roles including delivering their education service. Alison has a BD Hons, MA in Archive Studies and is learning Gaelic with UHI. She enjoys teaching Scottish palaeography, is an assessor and mentor for the Archives and Records Association CPD programme, a Museums Accreditation mentor, and treasurer for both the Scottish Association of Country House Archivists and the Historic Houses Archivists Group.
